Job Description

We are looking for a pleasant, professional, experienced Medical Assistant to provide essential support to our providers and patients. The ideal candidate will have experience in a healthcare setting, particularly within dermatology. This role is essential in supporting dermatologists and ensuring that patients receive the highest level of care. The Medical Assistant is responsible for a variety of patient care, technical, and clinical related tasks.

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform patient intake including reviewing and documenting medical history and current medications.
  • Prepare examination rooms by ensuring they are clean, stocked, and ready for patient visits. This will include ordering and tracking supplies.
  • Rooming patients and preparing patients for examination/procedure, as appropriate.
  • Assist with varied procedures as directed and under supervision of the MD, NP, or PA.
  • Ensure safe handling and disposition of instruments and equipment.

Qualifications

  • Certified as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) Previous experience in a clinic setting is preferred, particularly in dermatology.
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in use of the computer for all aspects of patient care and documentation. Experience working within systems that support clinical operations in a trauma center environment is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication skills and a compassionate approach to patient care.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while maintaining professionalism at all times.
